A negative achromatic lens consists of two optical elements bonded together. Negative doublet lens can correct color and axial aberrations. Negative achromatic lenses are mainly used as Barlow lenses to extend the focal length. These lenses are commonly used with positive achromatic mirror systems and imaging lenses.
